Official guide: setup, features, and security tips for Trezor devices and Trezor Suite.
Trezor Wallet stores your private keys offline in a physical device, protecting your crypto from malware and phishing. Use Trezor Suite as the official interface to manage coins, sign transactions, and review activity while your keys remain on the device.
Visit the official start page: trezor.io/start. Always use the official domain.
Download Trezor Suite for your OS (Windows, macOS, Linux).
Connect your Trezor device using the supplied USB cable; follow on-screen prompts.
Install firmware through the Suite — only accept updates from the official app.
Create backup by writing down your recovery seed on paper (never store digitally).
Set PIN to protect physical access and optionally enable a passphrase for a hidden wallet.
Your recovery seed is the single most important secret. Keep it offline and private. Trezor will never ask for your seed — treat any request as malicious.
What happens if I lose my Trezor? Restore your wallet on a new device using your recovery seed. Without the seed, funds cannot be recovered. Is Trezor open-source? Yes — firmware and companion tools are open-source and auditable by the community.
Cold Storage
Private keys never leave device.
Multi-Asset
Bitcoin, Ethereum, ERC-20, many chains.
Open Source
Transparent audits and community review.
Passphrase
Optional hidden wallet support for advanced users.
Consider Shamir Backup for distributed seed shares if you need redundancy. Use a metal seed plate for fire/water resistance when storing backups long-term.
